Abstract:
A report on the metallodielectric photonic structures based on polyelectrolytes multilayers was presented. A Bragg stack was fabricated consisting of high refractive index strata that contain silver nanoparticles and low index strata without nanoparticles. The reflectivity of the Bragg stack showed a strong maximum in the near-infrared (IR) corresponding to the stop band at the average quarter-wavelength thickness. The attenuation constant was found to be less than 0.1 in the near IR and decreased toward longer wavelengths in highly filled multilayers.
